No Comments Dairy Queen Amen.
My wife and I recently ate breakfast at the Dairy Queen in Versailles, KY and let me tell you now…atheists beware!
The first thing I noticed as I walked through the door was the Ten Commandments posted on one side of the wall and a picture of the American Flag with “In God We Trust” on the other wall; I knew then I was in for a “treat”. (see what I did there, I’m a clever bastard.)
The crew was super friendly, the place was clean and actually pretty impressive. We ordered our food and the young lady behind the counter told us that she would bring it out to us; VERY impressive!
As my wife and I sat there, jamming to the music, we realized that we had never heard the song playing…and after listening for just a few minutes, we realized why…they were blasting gospel music.
As a business, Dairy Queen has the right to hang what picture they want up and to blast whatever type of music they feel; so I’m not complaining about that at all; we have the right not to return.
The young lady brought our food and it was yummy; however, the wife and I couldn’t get over some of the lyrics we heard as we ate; it highly reminded us of South Park – Season 7, Episode 9 where Cartman creates the Christian group called Faith +1.
You can watch a clip of the South Park episode on YouTube – HERE!
The food and service was great; however, the atmosphere was completely built around shoving Christianity down your throat and if I worked there, I would have to file a complaint, however, I don’t work there…and never will; nor will I be back.
I don’t need to hear “oh lord I love how you hold me*” while I’m eating my sausage and gravy. I wonder how Christians would feel if they went into their local McDonald’s and heard songs praising Muhammad or even better, songs about how the Christian god doesn’t exist?
Love, Peace and Sharkyness!
